Partners With NETsilicon to Bring Internet to Embedded Systems
DALLAS – Nov. 8, 1999 – Paragon
Innovations, a leading provider of outsourced systems design,
announced today a partnership with NETsilicon Inc. (NASDAQ: NSIL),
making Paragon the only NET+Works (TM) Authorized Developer
in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana.
Paragon develops embedded systems using
NETsilicon’s NET+Works (TM) solution. "The time for
networking everything from home appliances to industrial equipment
has arrived," said Michael Wilkinson, founder and chief
executive officer of Paragon Innovations Inc. "Our partnership
with NETsilicon will help position us to be a major player in the
Internet-appliance arena. The NET+Works solution takes
appliance networking to the next level because it can handle all of
the protocols necessary for Web communications with greatly reduced
time-to-market."
"By partnering with Paragon, we can
better serve the rapidly growing number of companies interested in
pursuing the area of embedded networking," said Mark Taylor,
NETsilicon’s vice president of corporate marketing and product
management. "Based on Paragon’s years of experience and
industry knowledge, it will help to further expand applications for
the NET+Works solution and help companies add it to their

NETsilicon develops and markets semiconductor
devices and software solutions designed to meet the networking
requirements of embedded systems. The company’s products are
incorporated into the design of embedded systems to provide them
with the ability to communicate over standards-based local area
networks, wide-area networks and the Internet, enabling the
development of new embedded systems applications. The company offers
the first comprehensive solution that, in conjunction with the
physical interface and memory, encompasses all of the hardware and
software necessary to network enable embedded systems. The company’s
technology is designed to have broad applicability and therefore may
add network functionality to many embedded systems, e.g. industrial
automation equipment, communication devices, medical electronics,
