The B. Braun Medical Inc. Horizon Outlook™ with DoseScan™ infusion system, scheduled for spring release, extends its market position with engineering expertise from Paragon, a Plano, Texas-based company specializing in technology development and design.

Pharmacist receives patient prescription via the Physicians order.
The pharmacist confirms the prescribed IV order and labels the medication with a patient-specific bar-code label.
The IV medication is delivered to the nursing unit.
At the bedside, the clinician scans a Nurse ID badge to verify authorization
Scans Patient ID to identify correct patient
Scans Patient ID on the medication to confirm matching with the ‘right’ patient
Scans Infusion data on medication label to program the infusion device
