Paragon Innovations
Designs, Develops Embedded Systems for
Underwater Journey by ALSTOM Automation Schilling Robotics
DALLAS – June 3, 1999 – Paragon
Innovations, a leading provider of outsourced systems design and
development services, announced today its design and development
of several embedded systems components for the Quest, an
underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) manufactured by ALSTOM
Automation Schilling Robotics. Paragon helped Schilling Robotics
develop customized power supply, valve and motor control systems
for the ROV.
"Unlike many outsourcing companies,
Paragon Innovations knows how to take a concept and turn it into a
design and is capable of seeing it through the manufacturing
stage," said Carroll Perkins, chief electrical engineer at
Davis, Calif.-based Schilling Robotics, a global supplier of tele-operated
subsea systems, such as ROVs. "We have used six outsourcing
firms this past year, and Paragon Innovations is at the top of the
list."
In addition to the engineering expertise
that Schilling Robotics received, Perkins appreciated the
continual follow-up that was provided throughout the whole process
and the detailed documentation. Recently, Schilling Robotics hired
Paragon Innovations to assist them on another project.
"As outsourced experts, we focus on the
needs of our clients and will do what ever it takes to help them
achieve their goals on time and on budget," said Mike
Wilkinson, founder and chief executive officer of Paragon
Innovations.
This particular project for ALSTOM
Automation Schilling Robotics includes technologies from Dallas
Semiconductor (NYSE: DS), International Rectifier (NYSE:IRF) and
Texas Instruments (NYSE:TXN), among others. The technologies
incorporate digital signal processing, power components and Dallas
Semiconductor’s 1-Wire™.
