Michael Willey offers more than 20 years of experience in embedded systems design. His areas of expertise include telecommunications, industrial process controls, robotics, precision positioning systems, switching systems and medical electronics.
Willey joined Paragon in 1993, and leads product development and design operations checking every solution against Paragon’s high technical standards. Willey also played a key role in creating and developing Paragon’s coding and design standards, proposals and other company processes.
Prior to his career at Paragon, Willey was manager of software development for Communication Technology Corporation (CTC). Willey’s contributions helped CTC increase its market share by more than 50 percent. He also met Paragon’s founder and chief executive officer, Mike Wilkinson, while working for CTC.
Before that, Willey served as project manager for Electrospace Systems now part of Raytheon where he helped invent a patented switching technology for telephone companies. Willey also worked as an engineering manager for United Solder Wrap, and as an engineer for the automation and computers group of Continental Pipeline Company, a division of Conoco.
Willey received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Texas A&M University in College Station. He is an active member of the American Electronics Association (AEA) and has served over five years on the Embedded Systems Conference faculty.
Willey and his family reside in Garland, Texas. He enjoys dancing, relaxing at the lake and other family activities.
