J24 District 20 and Olson 25 Nationals
Hi All
Below is the announcement for the Olson 25 Nationals. In addition to excellent racing on the Berkeley Circle with Regatta Pro, we will have fine foods and great wines courtesy of Touchstone Management Consultants at the Berkeley YC for a modest sum of $15.
So far we have four boats: Shadowfax, Synchronicity, Shark on Bluegrass and Balien. A fifth boat would make a quorum.

To All J/24 District 20 and Fleet 17 Sailors and our Olson 25 Friends,
You are cordially invited to attend our second annual Touchstone Management Consultants, Inc. District 20 Championship Regatta being held on August 8th and 9th on the " Berkeley Circle ". This event will once again be entirely unique in that we've engaged Jeff Zarwell/Regatta Pro to be our PRO and run the regatta for us. Jeff has also volunteered to be our "Protest Committee" if his services are so required. Just remember that we didn't have any protests last year! This year we're partnering with the Olson 25 Fleet who will be holding their National Championships in co-operation with us.
Touchstone Management Consultants, Inc. is sponsoring/underwriting the event and we have committed to a "member" rental of the facilities at Berkeley Yacht Club for our Saturday evening catered dinner party and our Sunday afternoon cocktails/wine and snacks prize-giving ceremony/bash.
Here's what you need to know:
1. The regatta entry fee is $80.00 per boat. On-line registration is currently open at:
https://usa.regatta-manager.com/rpro/J24D20champsO25nats09
2. This year Chef Lulu of Lulu's Kitchen will be cooking her award-winning Paella on-site at the Berkeley Yacht Club. There will be both California and Vegetarian style Paellas served for dinner. Dinner will be served as close to 1800 hours as is practicable.
3. The catered dinner, wine with dinner and open bar are all free for participating J/24 sailors (we'll charge a small per head fee of $15 for family and guests you may want to bring along to join in all the fun and for all the Olson 25 Sailors who choose to join us for the dinner as well).
4. Drinks, cocktails, wine and snacks at the dinner and prize giving are free to all J/24 sailors who attend. All dinner guests will be receiving free wine with their dinners sponsored by our dear friends at Berryessa Gap Winery who are kind enough to be back for a second year in a row supporting this event and our Fleet.
5. We will also be having a drawing for all sailors participating for some pro-bono services offered by TMC, Inc.
6. TMC, Inc. is donating another new J/24 District 20 Championship Perpetual Trophy and trophies for the first, second and third place J/24 finishers. The trophy presentation at BYC on Sunday will take place as close to 1700 hours as is practicable.
7. Drinks, cocktails, wine and snacks at the prize giving are free to all J/24 sailors who attend. Berryessa Gap Winery will provide some wine for our prize-giving ceremony for all who attend. There will also be a No-host bar for the Olson 25 sailors.
We've already made arrangements with Berkeley Yacht Club for overnight guest moorage for any J/24's participating in the Regatta who want to keep their boats at the club on Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday nights.
What we need to know is who will be racing in the regatta, how many teams/#of crew will be joining us for the dinner party - as we've got to get our Lulu's Kitchen Catering Team ready to go - and how many boats, both J/24 and Olson 25, who want overnight moorage at BYC?
Please respond by email as I will be traveling.
Lulu and I both look forward to seeing you there and having another great event!
All the best,
Michael Whitfield
